Letter F Week!

Letter F Week!
This week we learned about the letter F and had a lot of Fun with it! (see what i did there? ;)
I introduced the letter F with a print out from Twisty Noodle
This week I actually had this idea of reprinting all the previous letters, putting them in page protectors and putting them all in a binder and giving it to my son with a crayon or dry erase marker. I liked to keep it in the car along with an additional binder full of pictures to color that start with the letter of the week.
I let him make a feathered F

Then we made cupcakes.
I know cupcakes don't start with F but just see where I went with it here, it'll make sense!

I led him in counting the cupcake liners while he was putting them in.

See? It made sense!

While we were waiting for them to cook he also used the cupcake tin liners for a letter F activity

Of course we did other paper crafts throughout the week

And our handprint activity!
We did a cut and paste activity from School Sparks
He had a Fantastic lunch!
It was a Fabulous week!

Letter D Week!

Letter D Week! There was so much to do this week! I'm sure that if I went back I could find even more to do!
I started this week with two printables one from School Sparks and a new one from Twisty Noodle.
I love that the printables from Twisty Noodle are customizable and free!
I also printed out things that he was already familiar with that started with D for him to color.

I took the C shaped road idea from C week and made it a little bigger and better and more durable than a piece of construction paper.
We also did a few more construction paper crafts!
He really loves to do these and responds well to them!

Of course we had our handprint craft!
And a few more worksheet activities from School Sparks
For our special snack we made Dirt!

We also had chicken and Dumplings for dinner one night and Donuts for a snack one day.
We did two other projects that I didn't snap pictures of, I let him decorate a Donut coloring sheet and we put Dots on the letter D.
We had a bunch of fun with this week's letter!

C Week!

I started doing homeschool preschool with my 3 year old son around mid august but didn't think of taking pictures of it and documenting it until we got to the letter C. I've changed things up week by week to adapt to his particular learning style and what would hold his attention the best. He already knows all of the letters by sight so my goal is to teach him the main sounds they make and practice writing them.
For Letter C Week I introduced the letter C with two printables from the School Sparks website. School Sparks is an awesome site and all of their resources are free!

Since my son loves his little matchbox cars, we made a road in the shape of a C so that he could practice making the shape by driving his Cars on the road!

We made paper crafts throughout the week.
Cotton Clouds on the letter C
A Crab made from the letter C and his Claws were made from the letter C as well!
I liked the idea of doing at least one handprint craft so, for this week we made a Cat with his hands making the whiskers. (this idea is executed a little better in the weeks after this)

We made a Letter C book to take with us when we went out to the store or whatever other errands had to be done. I carried stickers in my purse and he would have the book.  when he would point out something that started with the letter C or printed words that started with the letter C, I would give him a sticker to put in his book.
I had cut out small letter Cs and we did a letter C scavenger hunt, he had to find everything I had put the letters on and collect them.
( I didn't put a letter on 'chips' because I was emphasizing the hard C sound)
I tried to incorporate it into his lunch too!
And we made Cookies!
